Britax Monarch Booster Car Seat Royal Racer

Product Description

German-designed and engineered to meet the highest safety standards, the britax Monarch Belt-Positioning Booster was developed to grow with your child. It features True Side Impact Protection and innovative comfort features. Deep head and side wings cocoon the child's head, shoulders and entire torso in the event of a crash, spreading the force over a larger area reducing risk of serious injury. The strong sturdy shell is made to prevent the car from invading the seating area, further protecting the child.

For a relaxing, comfy ride, the seat has three layers of padding, pressure-mapped for comfort. Color-coded belt route guides assure proper lap and shoulder belt positions, and a one-hand height adjustment headrest means your child will be comfortable and safe through those growth spurts.

The plush fabric cover removes for washing, and the soft-touch armrests expand for wider seating. The seat also has two retractable cup holders, and it easily converts to a backless booster.

  • For children 38-60 inches tall, weighing 25-100 lbs.
  • Lightweight booster weighs only 15 lbs.
  • Dimensions: Dimensions 15.5"L x 17.5"W x 27.5"H

My six year loves this seat! We needed to upgrade last year as my son was getting to big for the 5 point harness Britax seat. Can't remember the name of it, but it is also a great seat! We have really enjoyed all of the britax seats we have had. They all seem to be well made, easy to use and very comfotable.
My son really likes this one for longer rides in the car. It is very roomy and helps hold his head up when he falls asleep in the car. He is not a small boy either and still has plenty of room. The base comes apart from the back easily if needed. He likes the arm rests and the fact that he can buckle with the big buckle now.
The only draw back to the seat is the base is wide and so in my husbands (chevy impala)the seat teeters a bit in the center of the bench. I think chevy made a high point in the bench seat and so going around corners with the seat installed can be a little disconserting for my son. We countered the effect by opening up the cup holders which helps the seat maintain balance, but I don't think the cup holders were designed for that. So we opted to just use it in our minivan. We spend more time in the van anyway. As for the impala its mainly for quick trips so we opted for a cheep booster with a smaller base and that one fits great in his car.
On a whole we love the britax booster. Very comfortable and much prettier in real life. And worth the money!

This is a great car seat. The only thing that you need to know is that some websites (I don't know if this is the one where I got the wrong information) states that the booster with the back can be used for a child shorter than 38 inches. This is NOT the case. The booster even with the back, according to the Britax instructions, is for children 38 inches or taller. I still like the booster seat however, and it was delivered on time. We have the red racer and the pink racer and they are both really attractive.

Britax just knows how to do it right. I love this booster, the Regent car seat and the Boulevard car seat. They're all so well made and easy to use - not to mention easy to install.

We went from Wizard 5-point harness seats to the Monarch and my children love them. They seem a bit difficult to fasten the seatbelt but that may just be my children not being used to having to do that. The head rest is a big part of why then like them.

I did a lot of research prior to purchasing this seat for my 5 1/2 year old. I have owned several other Britax seats and have been very satisfied with them. I feel the same way about this seat. My son is on the smaller side and has not totally outgrown his 5-point harness seat (a Britax Decathalon). However, with school and carpools, we needed a booster seat that was still very safe, yet easily moved between cars. This seat is perfect. We are using it with the back since my son is just 40 lbs. I like that it easily converts to a backless booster as the child grows and everything else about the seat from the back to the armrests adjusts as well. My son loves the seat and says it is more comfortable than the Graco Turbo Booster seats he uses in a friend's car. I also like the side impact protection he still gets due to the wings around his torso and head. He has never complained about them blocking his view and thinks they are great for napping on long rides. As other reviewers have mentioned, the low arm rests do make it more challenging to buckle the seat belt. However, it only took a couple of weeks for my son to master this, and the placement of the arm rests does ensure the belt is always positioned properly. I will definitely buy this seat again when my other child is older.

I've always used Britax car seats for my two young kids. I recently bought the Britax Monarch for my son since he is now big enough for a booster. The side wings are fantastic for long rides - my son tends to fall asleep in the car often - the wings keep his head in a neutral position - and don't allow for him to fall forward. The side arms do not move up and down (they do move out to allow for growth) for ease of use to put the lap belt through. THe attachment that is used for putting the shoulder belt through often locks the belt from moving - which I then have to completely take the belt out of the car seat and feed back until it unlocks and then feed the belt through the shoulder harness on the car seat. SInce I carpool it was taking me 5 minutes just to put my son in his booster seat...since I have purchased a Compass Booster. I LOVE the Compass! The side arms lift and lower, very easy to feed the shoulder belt through - and it folds for compact storage! Much more user friendly than the britax. Like I said - I like the britax for long car rides - but not for carpooling!

This is the second Britax Monarch Booster we have purchased. My son started using his almost a year ago and when it was time for my daughter to move up I bought this seat again, just in a different color so I know which seat belongs to which twin. Both kids seem very comfortable in their seats and I love that it has adjustments in the back/head/neck and hip area for maximum comfort and safety. I also like that we can take the back of the booster off if necessary and that this should be the last seat we need until they sit in the car without a booster.

We bought these for our 3 y.o. twin boys. They were SO excited when they came!
We searched for a good seat to use in our Land Rover Disco SE7-these fit nicely. And my boy nappers are very comfy in them-no bobbing heads like our last seats. I like the ease of use and the comfort of padding too for all the long car trips we take. Only downside is that I've yet to find a cup that fits the holder without falling out.

Finally an affordable toddler booster seat for the very small bucket seats of a Porsche. My 3 yo toddler loves being able to go for "joy rides" in the back. She seems to be very comfortable in it and the extra padding around the head is great for safety reasons with all the mechanical and structural apparatus of the soft top. Not have tried with the top up but does not look like it will work.

Too bad there isn't an AFFORDABLE rear facing one for younger child. Oh well.

We have had this carseat for about a month, and so far it has worked out well. My son is very comfortable and his head does not fall forward when he is sleeping in the seat.
My only complaint is that there are no seat anchors to secure the carseat to the car. I think if those were added, it would be more secure and not slide around as much.
Overall, this is a great carseat for us and a good step up from the Britax Marathon that we have used for the last 3 years.
